Antigua winds alto sax models professional#
My question to you is has your daughter ever played a saxophone of any sort before? If you can afford to buy an intermediate Yamaha new then you could get a professional one used. If you could have an experienced player go to the store with you and play them both, and give you their opinion, I think that would be valuable. That doesn't mean that the Antigua isn't a good instrument though.
I'd say that if given the choice between the two, without playing and hearing both of them, I'd pick the Yamaha. Other saxophones are much more forgiving, but the soprano is not. The only reason I'd be cautious of it is because with the soprano saxophone, it's important to have a decent instrument. Is there something about one sax over the other I should consider?Īny thoughts and recommendations would be very greatly appreciated. I'm curious as to the impressions everyone would have comparing the two horns in the title of the thread? I've read nothing but good things online about the Antigua and many usually have good things to say about the Yamaha as well. She tried a used Yani and liked that a lot too, as well as an eastmen. She played the Yamaha YSS in the store and did really like it but she also hasn't had the opportunity to play many. I'm a musician but I am not a woodwind player so I don't know too much about them except what I can find online. Antigua Winds SS vs Yamaha YSS, first soprano hello everyone, My daughter is a clarinet player, high school age who wants to pick up soprano as her second instrument. Remember Me?
